Automated Charcoal Facility in Amlan, Negros Oriental

Amlan, the smoke-free Municipality of Negros Oriental, is one of the many homes of Mackay Group of Companies.

We are foreseeing to expand from manual to automated production, manufacturing 1 tonne to 36 Tonnes per day of Mackay Bana Charcoal, the Smokeless, Odourless , Non – Carcinogenic and environmental friendly charcoal.

The construction started in the first week of July and anticipating to be finished in December 2019 by Buensuceso Mackay Construction, occupying the 1,200 sqm of its 1 hectare own land.

Negros is the most strategic location to operate the production because it is located in the central of the Philippines which will be easier for everyone to deliver and receive the product in different regions. Its rich soil is also the reason why Bana Grass, the main ingredient of Mackay Bana Charcoal,  can yield up to minimum of 360 Wet tonnes per hectare in a year.

The Mackay Bana Charcoal, also known as the green charcoal, gives life to everyone. It does not harm the environment because of its unique qualities.

It is made made of Mackay Bana Grass that can be harvested easily which guarantees bountiful supply.

This Mackay Bana Charcoal benefits the environment because it changed the traditional way of making charcoals by cutting down trees. This charcoal is organic wherein the ashes can be used as fertilisers that will help the consumer by selling it or using it in their own goods.

As a third class Municipality composing of more or less 24,000 people. The MGE helps the community of Amlan to employ 100 locals. They’re working for construction site and some are in production, and looking forward from being long term worker to permanent part of the company which encompasses the mission of the group… to provide sustainable job for the people.

More than 100 job hunters went to apply for the positions available in Amlan. BMC and MGE are moving forward together with the help of LGU of Amlan in Negros, Oriental.
